I really can’t wait until the cycle of parental abuse is broken in the African American community. I really can’t wait until we stop talking about being beaten and trading stories about the worst whooping we had while laughing. We go through so much trauma as kids under the guise of discipline and building character. It’s is possible to raise a great person without them having to go through trauma that’s “made them so strong”.
